Terms of service

These terms apply when you buy a package from Career Guardian. They're written to be read, not to be impenetrable.

What you're buying

Career Launch ($349) — a professionally written CV, a cover letter, a job application tracker, and two rounds of revisions. First draft delivered within 48 hours of your completed questionnaire.

Career Elite ($1,499) — everything in Career Launch, plus a rewritten LinkedIn profile, a personal brand website built and published, and unlimited cover letters for six months. First draft delivered within four working days of your completed questionnaire.

Priority turnaround may be offered as a paid upgrade at checkout. Where purchased, the shortened timeframe replaces the standard one.

Turnaround times

All timeframes start when your completed questionnaire arrives, not when you pay. If we need to come back to you for missing information, the clock pauses until you reply. Working days exclude weekends and US public holidays.

Revisions

Two rounds of revisions are included with both packages. A round means you send your consolidated notes and we return a revised version. Revision requests should be made within 30 days of receiving your first draft.

Revisions cover refining the document we wrote. Substantially changing the brief — targeting a different career, or adding roles you didn't mention — is new work, and we'll quote it separately before doing anything.

Unlimited cover letters (Career Elite)

For six months from delivery, we'll write cover letters for roles you're applying to, at a fair use limit of five per month. Send us the job advert and we'll turn it around within two working days.

What we need from you

The quality of what you receive depends on the quality of what you tell us. You're responsible for making sure the information you provide is accurate and true. We won't include claims about qualifications, employment dates or achievements that you can't stand behind, and we'll query anything that looks likely to cause you a problem at interview.

Refunds

If you've paid but not yet submitted your questionnaire, you can cancel for a full refund, no questions asked.

Once we've delivered a first draft, the work is done and the fee is non-refundable — but the revisions are there precisely so we can get it right. If you're unhappy, tell us before asking for a refund and we'll almost always be able to fix it.

The 90-day interview guarantee

If you apply to at least fifteen relevant roles using the final CV we deliver, and you receive no interview invitations within ninety days of delivery, we'll rewrite your CV from scratch at no charge.

To claim it, email us within 120 days of delivery with a list of the roles you applied to, including employer, job title and approximate date. "Relevant" means roles broadly matching the experience level and sector agreed in your questionnaire — we're not able to honour the guarantee for applications well outside your background, since the CV was written for a different target.

The guarantee entitles you to a full rewrite, not a refund. It applies once per order.

What we can't promise

We can't guarantee a job offer or a particular salary. Too much of that sits outside anyone's control — the market, the competition, and the interview itself, which is yours. What we guarantee is the work, and the interview guarantee above.

Ownership

Once you've paid in full, the finished documents are yours. Use them however you like. We retain no claim over them, and we won't use your CV as an example without asking you first.

Confidentiality

What you tell us stays between us. We don't contact employers, we don't share your details with recruiters, and we understand that most of our clients are looking while still employed. See the privacy policy for the detail.

Liability

Our liability in connection with any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't lawfully be limited.
